Heaven

Just recently Ryan has been asking a lot about Heaven.  It makes me happy to know that he knows there is a Heaven.  He is starting have fears about going to Heaven sometime soon.  I try to answer him as Biblically as possible, but at the same time answer as a mommy.  Thats hard!  I tell him we don't have to worry about it right now and that Jesus is preparing a wonderful place for us for someday.  He has not known anyone who has gone to Heaven yet, but asks about our grandparents that we have photos of.  I know when the time is right the words will come and he will fully understand.  I am so happy that he has grandparents, uncles, aunts, and super sunday school teachers to help us out!

John 14:2-4

In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.  You know the way to the place where I am going."

prayers

I love to hear my babies pray and these days they argue over who will say the prayers.  It makes me feel so blessed to know that these two babies I prayed God would give me now pray to him.  I also LOVE the fact that their prayers are always prayers of thanksgiving.  Seriously, I know God hears all our prayers, but I bet he just smiles and is so proud when he hears the prayers of little ones.  They come before him expecting nothing and thankful for everything.  I want to go back to that time in my walk with Jesus.  I want to have a heart of thanksgiving.  I hope one day they know how much their momma and daddy loved to hear them pray!

Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Happy Valentine's Day (a little late)

Since Ryan is not letting us rock him anymore we have found ourselves asking him if we can.  Hoping for an off chance he just might say YES.  About 4 days after Valentine's Day I walked him to his room to go to bed and he looked at me and said "ok mom, you can rock me!"  I said oh Ryan are you sure do you mind really??  My heart was so happy that for one moment I was going to get to hold him as he falls asleep.  He climbed into the chair and in my lab which apparently is shrinking (yikes) or he is getting really big really fast!  We snuggled said prayers and he got really quiet and began to drift off.  My heart was so content and full as he "slept".  I whispered "thank you sweet boy".  If you know Ryan you know he is a STINKER.  That sweet boy I thought was asleep cracked a smile and never opened his eyes as he whispered "you're welcome, its your Valentine"  I love that sweet boy even if he is a STINKER!!

Be Mine

Since Ryan is now in a BIG BOY bed he rarely lets us rock him to sleep.  He may sit in the chair for a story ,but then its quickly to his bed!  The other night I asked him as usual if he would let me rock him and his words were "Sure, ok mommy you can rock me tonight!" I sat there loving on him holding him tightly and he fell asleep in my arms for the last time in that red rocker!  I wanted to hold on FOREVER!  Cant we just freeze him right where he is right now?   As I went to lay him in his bed I whispered "Thank you buddy! I love you!" He sweetly smiled with eyes closed and said "I love you too! It was your Valentine!"  What a little CHARMER!!  I love that silly boy!

Keep your hands to yourself!

This morning as we were getting ready for school and work RK had some "sassitude".  This is not a rare occurrence with her.  She is quite opinionated and will quickly let you know if she doesn't agree with your line of thinking.  Today was no exception.  After many instances of not following directions I asked her if I needed to spank....I was shocked to hear her response "Momma, you keep your hands to yourself!"  Yikes!  I guess she is trying to make me practice what I preach.  haha Needless to say she did not get a spanking.

2 Tim 1:7 (NIV) For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

Out of the mouths of Babes

As we were getting ready for church Sunday I was telling R how handsome he is.  He looked at me like I was very confused and said "No, No Momma I not Samson!".

RK eats everything and is a girl of few words!  However, she caught us way off guard the other night when she handed me a wheat thin and proudly said "Here Momma, I not like it!"  Yeah RK!

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14
